At 2Gareni Industrie, the safety and performance of your equipment is our priority. Following recent servicing of machines built before 2021, we have observed a small percentage of loose shaft end nuts on certain pump models. Although this phenomenon only affects a small fraction of our machines (less than 2%), it is essential to take certain precautions to avoid any risk of key failure or premature wear
Tips for Winterizing and Checking Pumps
To prolong the life of your pumps and optimize their operation, we recommend that you follow these winterization and inspection steps. These procedures are easy to implement and will keep your machines in top condition:
- Draining the pumps: start by draining the waste water from your pumps.
- Apply antifreeze: fill your pumps with a greasy antifreeze or winterizing liquid, and leave them to stand for a month to ease any possible loosening.
- Dismantle rear flange.
- Shaft end nut maintenance: loosen the nut, then apply water-resistant grease to the thread and shaft.
- First tightening: tighten the nut once with grease.
- Apply threadlocker: loosen again, remove the grease, and apply a normal threadlocker before retightening the nut to the torque recommended in the manual for your pump model.
These operations should be repeated every two years to ensure the longevity and efficiency of your pumps.
